Police clearance for Bangladesh Nationals


  • In order to receive the Police Clearance Certificate of Bangladesh for a certain period, expatriate Bangladeshi citizens may apply to the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Hong Kong. To facilitate the process, the Consulate General HK requires the following documents:
  • Original passport along with application and one recent photograph.
  • Two sets of passport photocopies to be attested by the Consulate General.
  • Authorization letter duly signed by the applicant in favour of the applicant’s nominated person or next of kin (NOK) in Bangladesh to be attested by the Consulate.
  • After attestation of all the above-mentioned documents from the Consulate General, Hong Kong, the authorized person of the applicant in Bangladesh may apply on behalf of the applicant through the official web link of Bangladesh Police.

Note: The applicant will receive the police clearance certificate through their authorized relatives in Bangladesh once Bangladesh Police Authority issues the Certificate to the authorized person. For detailed guidelines of Bangladesh Police, click here.


Police clearance for Foreign Nationals


In order to receive the Police Clearance Certificate of Bangladesh for a certain period, Foreign Passport Holders may apply to the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Hong Kong. To facilitate the process, the Consulate General requires the following documents:

  • Copy of the passport with two recent photographs.
  • Resident and business addresses in Bangladesh.
  • Proof of the duration of stay in Bangladesh (visa copy, arrival/exit seal, etc).
  • Contact details both in Bangladesh and Hong Kong.

They may also complete the process through the official web link of Bangladesh Police. 

 Note: The applicant will receive the police clearance certificate once the same will be issued and sent to the Bangladesh Consulate General, Hong Kong. The required time will depend on the authorities of the Bangladesh Police.
